Competition guidelines
1. Competition entry is optional.
2. Members submit a maximum of 2 entries, unless the topic
demands otherwise.
3. Entries are to be e-mailed to Glynne unless otherwise
indicated (see Contact us page for email address).
4. Entries need to be at least 2000 pixels wide to enable
high quality projection during meetings.
5. Photographs submitted as competition entries MUST have
been taken on or after the 1st of the same month of the
preceding year, e.g. September 2024 entries on or
after 1st September 2023.
6. Voting: all members may vote whether present at a
meeting or not. Entries will be displayed on the website on
the morning of the next meeting, and votes may be sent to Glynne by email. Members who have not attended
for more than three meetings may not use this method.
7. You may not vote for your own submission/s.
Technical data format
If you wish to add technical data to your entries, so that other members can learn from your settings, please use the following standard information and format so comparisons can be made:
Information
Shutter speed
Aperture
ISO speed
Lens
Focal length
To save Glynne having to edit and retype information repeatedly for the website, please lay the above data out horizontally in your email, thus:
1/250 f/8 ISO 400 18-200mm 45mm
ONE space between each item is sufficient. Please do NOT use TAB for spacing - it messes up the website's presets. Please do NOT include camera make and model, file size or the labels. We all know what the figures mean. Standardisation of the format is important and means members can easily compare the photos' settings.
